San Francisco, CA

*Tanya Joyce's landscape mural "Can You See It From The Moon" extends from the Folsom Street entrance to Cowden Automotive to the shop's Shipley Street exit, a distance of more than 50 yards. Although some larger temporary interactive murals have been created at festivals, fairs, and other special events, this is the world's second largest interactive mural (exceeded in size only by the Sears Tower Skydeck mural in Chicago). The composition is a panorama from Mt. Tamalpais, across the San Francisco skyline, to mid-peninsula bird sanctuaries. The clear, open style of the mural derives from Asian calligraphic ink techniques. Nine structural supports within the mural are designed to evoke decorative columns of Old San Francisco.
