Welcome to the Year of the Dog!

Tanya's second poetry book, Celestial Animals, has just been published! Since this is the Year of the Dog, the cover shows Tanya's Lion-Dog sketch. The poems are loosely organized around the 12 animals of the Chinese zodiac. It is available for $15.

Featured along with the poetry are a baker's dozen of Tanya's zodiac animal paintings. The illustrations come from 26 years of painting sessions focused on the Chinese zodiac animals. These gatherings of of the Blue Teapot School of Chinese Influenced American Painting happen annually, near the Chinese New Year.

For Spring Open Studio earlier this month, Tanya featured the "Animals of the Zodiac". The "Grounding Cat Buddha" painting on Tanya's home page was a celebrated highlight. One entire wall of the paintings in Celestial Animals were on display.

June will find Tanya participating in East Bay Open Studio. Her exhibit is titled "Days in the Garden: Paintings from the Garden of Steven Smith".
